Is mosquito repellent bad for my new tattoo?

I just had my line work done about five days ago and it's still in the healing stage. Would the chemicals in ';Off'; be bad for my tattoo and proper healing? Is mosquito repellent bad for my new tattoo?
Most mosquito repellents contain DEET. Deet is a nasty chemical. I wouldn't get it near the tattoo while it is healing. Deet is easily absorbed into the skin. If your skin is still unintact from that tattoo, it will go there straight away. You gotta kinda wonder if it says not to use Deet products on a baby under 6 months old what the heck is in it. YIKES!Is mosquito repellent bad for my new tattoo?
Oh yes it is defiantly very bad for your healing tattoo. You do not want to put any chemicals on your tattoo besides what the tattoo professional told you to use.

Also, the first poster who wrote about DEET was very informative and correct. DEET can be very harmful. I have to use bug spray in the summer when I am outside or I will get bit by thousands of mosquitoes, however, I make sure I buy repellent that does not contain DEET. There are a lot of safe ways to keep the bugs away.
Yes!!!! Not only is it going to ruin your tattoo but it's going to hurt like hell!

You shouldn't get anything containing alcohol on your tattoo. And i'm pretty sure that Off has alcohol in it.

I wouldn't put it on my tattoo. Just hope the mosquitos don't bite you.

Good Luck
I wouldn't risk putting those harsh chemicals on a fresh tattoo. Would you put mosquito repellant on a fresh wound?
