Is there a natural snake repellent?

We live in the woods in the thumb of Mi. Since we have a pond and a lot of places for the Gardner Snakes to hide we have a lot of them. I am afraid of them and the dog is constantly after them. What can we do to make them go away and not kill them?Is there a natural snake repellent?
I agree that mothballs are one way to keep snakes (and mice and many types of insects away). Moth balls arent what I was thinking of as a natural way to keep snakes away though. Moth balls can be dangerous to dogs and cats so think twice before sprinkling

Marigolds are said to be a natural snake repellent. Capsasin is also thought to be a snake repellent. Snakes in general dislike anything with a strong odor, but you may dislike strong odors yourself. Many farmers claim that sulphur is a snake repellent as is lime. You may have to replace many of these things after a rain.

Good luck in getting rid of your pests. Is there a natural snake repellent?
There is no such thing as a snake repellent. Moth balls, sulfur, lye etc etc do not work %26amp; are dangerous to kids, pets %26amp; pollute the environment. The place you describe is a natural habitat for them with food, water %26amp; shelter so you'd better get used to them. They are totally harmless to you %26amp; your dog.
Deal with it. They are harmless animals that eat slugs and other things, and are a normal part of nature. I know this is easier said than done, but it is worth trying!

None of the things sold as 'snake repellents' work, and moth balls are... well, sometimes in studies they seem to work but most of the time they don't do much.
There have been a couple of studies on snake repellant. Both concluded that the best repellant is the smell of humans. Garter snakes are harmless; try to live with them and don't worry about the dogs..
i would sit down and let some crowl on you. its scary but you will learn to understand them. plus they eat spiders a plus for me
MOTH BALLS AND TONS OF THEM!!!
