make little balls of boric acid and sweetened condensed milk. place them in, around, and under {know what i mean} in the kit and bath. this will kill the ones inside but more will come in . to stop this, put cedar shaveings in flower beds and soforth around house. most bugs HATE cedarDoes anyone know of an effective, natural cockroach repellent?
Boric acid is a poison too. Diametatious earth (not sure of spelling) will kill them but is harmless to people.
In the yard, I'd try growing catnip.

Another alternative is called an Osage Orange. They grow in the woods wild in the states.

Boric acid (a powder) kills them upon ingestion. When other roaches eat the dead ones, they also die.
But if I understand correctly, you do need to keep it away from pets. Read the instructions fully %26amp; carefully.
Boric acid, in powder form sold at HD for one, in a white plastic squeeze type bottle with a red nozzle.
I live in central FL and have come to grips with the fact that they were here before us and will long outlive our species.
Caution around pets and children certainly, as well as cooking, eating, or storage utensils and containers.
It is as effective as any sprays, baits, traps, etc, sold today.

keeping lights on in rooms helps some but not completely. best bet is to take the kids, go stay at a hotel for a long weekend and get the house professionally fumigated.
put in some roach traps that cath and not kill
nope. shoes work well
Someone (who I believe to be a reliable source) once told me BAY LEAVES work well. I don't know, since I've never had a roach problem to test it on.... There are scores of pages on natural pest repellants, so just do a search with those words, or variations thereof (natural roach / cockroach repellant, safe, organic, natural pest remedies, etc.) Good luck!
The roaches you are talking about are what we call water bugs, they are huge!! And they are not like your typical cock roach coming in to find food, they are coming in just to annoy people like you and me. they thrive in the yard in leaves, mulch around trees, I am guessing you probably have trees and moist shady areas, they love that. keep the outside cleaned up and as dry as possible. I have heard of people using horse apples but am not sure how well it works. A good insecticide is Ortho Home Pest, if you should decide to spray, use it around the outside of your house and if you spray it inside will kill the ones that make it in for a good while.
