What works besides bitter spray for a repellent?

My Boxer started a new habit of chewing on furniture so I bought the bitter spray to try and repel her but it has had no effect. Is there anything else out there that works good??What works besides bitter spray for a repellent?
She/He is bored...mainly wants more of you. Chew-toys-Chew-toys(squeaky things or balls or stuffed anythings lol) %26amp; as I call them ';Scooby Snacks'; (the difference between those are a chew toy is just that...butT I also call them ';Scooby Snacks'; (which are just that a ';treat';...not quite a ';chewy'; butT close) I use the word for both a treat for them and a treat for me...Plus it gives them the fact they got your attention and they got mine in a POSITIVE not in a negivtive way(trantrum)...Make sure you don't just give it to them without sitting or anything you taught them with praise/yeah. They love to show-off who they are...They also need lots of ';personal time'; alone(key ';alone';...believe me it's not the end of the world lol!...They'll live...you...maybe not...atm(joking butT true)...';you time';(always)...';play time';...';love time';...also ';social skill time';...which is or maybe a handful for you...Honestly...persistence...with love and time. Good luck! What works besides bitter spray for a repellent?
try sprinkling curry powder on the furniture. anything super hot and powdery so that when they smell it they dont wana go near it again. they will sneeze a bit after a day or so vacume it up and they probably will not ever chew that furniture again, and get him a replacement chew toy a quality one that will last the kong is a good one and they will spend hours trying to get the peanut butter or whatever treat you stuff up inside of it. always reward him with praise and affection when you see him chewing on his chew toy.
You can buy a bicycle horn, and honk it to startle him whenever to goes to chew on the furniture.
I use Vick's Vapor Rub.
