Many thanksWhat is the best insect repellent?
Jungle Formula

works great just shower off your sun screen when the sun goes down and slap it on, it doesn't smell as bad as most and is reasonable priced.

A Greek friend of mine recommends using lemon juice but who wants to stink like a lemon all hols...lolWhat is the best insect repellent?
Any bugspray without deet is your best bet. Deet is a chemical in most bugsprays that causes nerve damage if you're exposed to it over a long period of time. Go deet-less.
Personaly i have not found one yet that works, other than smoke, but would you want to walk around with a smoke canister on your back.

Just think about going down the pub with this on your back, i wounder if they would kick you out. lol
i dont know what kind of insects you are refering to but i lived in africa for a yr mosquito land i tried a lot of repellents and the only one that worked completely and for a long time was a cream called mosi guard its about 拢6 from a chemist, the only downfalls to it are it is quite sticky and does not smell too good but its bearable and a tube lasts a long time as only a thin application is needed.
Jungle you get it in tubes and you rub it on
Some years ago, I read that taking Vitamin B12 or any B complex vitamin capsules kept insects away. I tried it and it works, besides being good to your health in general. And avoid eating bananas when the mosquitoes are active. Your skin emits a smell they sense.
I found a recipe in a herbal remedies book that really worked for me.

10 drops of orange oil.

10 mill of whitchazel

90 mill of carbonated water

Apply to the whole body except your face using a spritzer.

The orange oil deters the insects much the same as citronella, and should one get through then the whitchazel is the antiseptic to cure the bite.

Never get bitten any more at home or abroad.

Not sure of the price but as you only use small amounts of the orange oil and whitchazel once puchased you should have enough to last you all year. Buy a good quality orange oil. Hope this works for you to.
go to chemist ask 4 a spray on , not sure of price , either that or roll a newspaper
Eat garlic and put lavender and citrus candles in all room and burn them. All insects don't like the smell or taste of any of the three things I've mentioned. You can buy a spray repellent which is good from all supermarkets and stores such as Wilkinson's. Also if you have got bitten buy some antihistamine tablets from the chemist, this will stop the itching. Hope this helps and the biting stops soon.
i actually have heard of using vanilla extract
Boots do a combination sunscreen (yes you need it even on a cloudy day) with insect repellant.

Not sure of the price but it wasn't ';off the wall';.

You could try lavender oil, lemon or....eat a lot of garlic, they hate it.
Jungle Formula is the brand i'd recommend. I use the extra strength spray which is about 拢5 per can but its well worth it. I get eaten alive by horseflies but when i use this they don't come anywhere near. You can also get different applications of it and also room plug-ins.
Off makes a spray on repellent that has a powdery texture instead of an oily one. I like it.
