What other kinds of tick and flea repellent would you suggest other than Frontline?

I have two cats and can't afford Frontline.

I just bought Silver 3 way protection by Sergeants from WalMart for 1/2 the price of Frontline.

Does anyone know if Silver works and if not, any other suggestions on brands and where to get them?

I don't like the flea and tick collars, they smell. What other kinds of tick and flea repellent would you suggest other than Frontline?
I like revolution. What other kinds of tick and flea repellent would you suggest other than Frontline?
Fleas hate garlic, when an animal ingests garlic they secrete a small ammount of it with the oil in there skin. This causes an odor undetectible by humans or larger animals but overpowering to fleas. Works great to prevent fleas and sometimes get rid of them. Just put a bit of fresh garlic in the animals food. It is a natural remedy and will not harm your cat in any way. It is healthy for them to!
I get Frontline Plus from a seller on Ebay from Australia. The cost is HALF of what stores and vets sell it for in the US.
You can't afford not to use Frontline plus. If you read the fine print you will find that unless you have a tick problem you only need to apply it every 3 months. Total for you would be less than 14 bucks a month.

The stuff you bought..time will tell if it works. As with any medicine make sure you know the side effects %26amp; keep an eye on your kitties for 24 hours after applying in case they have an allergic reaction.

There are herbal remedies out there but beware..certain oils (eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender) are NOT for cats. It will kill them.

Want a natural way to kill fleas in your house or yard? at your local hardware center. DE (a pool filtering agent) is known to cut the fleas in half from the inside out after they ingest it. I spread it in my yard so we don't have a problem.
GO TO YOUR LOCAL CO-OP AND PICK UP THE LITTLE ORANGE TAGS THEY STAPLE TO THE CATTLES EARS TO KEEP TICKS AND FLEAS OFF THEM AND CUT A LITTLE PIECE OFF OF THE TAG AND PUT IT ON THE CATS COLLAR AND THEN PUT THE REST UP FOR LATER ..MY MOM USES THEM AND THEY ARE VERY CHEAP AND LAST A LONG TIME....HER DOGS HAD FLEAS BAD AND SHE GOT RID OF THEM WITHOUT ANYTHING JUST THOSE ORANGE TAGS ANYONE CAN BUY THEM JUST GO TO UR CO-OP EVERY TOWN SHOULD HAVE A CO-OP...MY MOTHER ALSO USE TO USE THAT EXPENSIVE STUFF FROM THE VET AND IT NEVER WORKED
Frontline and Advantix are expensive but they actually work, which a lot of the others don't.

But I can understand not being able to afford them and looking for alternatives.

But please, whatever you do DO NOT BUT THE HARTZ products! They are very dangerous.

you can go to www.hartzvictims.org for more information. I know this is true because I almost lost my cat using it.
